Hunting on Sacred Ground - A book by Dave Ratcliffe June 14th, 2012


In 2007 Dave released a book called An Era Gone. It covered Dave's experiences as a deer culler, native Bushman and meat hunter, in various areas, including fiordland. An Era Gone concluded when Dave married in 1977.

Hunting on Sacred ground continues from where Dave left off, and covers his next 30 years as a hunter, hunting guide, and developer/ manager of the Waipari hunting operation in the central north island. (The southern end of the Hauhungaroa range)

The book has 224 pages of script and B/W photos, and 24 pages of colour photos. A recent comment from a reader descibed it as ... "a bloody great read - Blood Sweat and Tears."
